Disc Caddie doesn't use accounts or logins — there's nothing to sign up for, and nothing tying what the app does to your name or email. This page explains, plainly, what little data the app does handle.
What we collect
- Tee sign photos. When you photograph a tee sign, that image is sent to our AI provider for one-time analysis and is never stored on our own servers. Only the parsed result — hole length, par, elevation, and mandatory-route/out-of-bounds flags — is cached on our server, indexed by a one-way fingerprint of the image that can't be turned back into the photo.
- Bag and disc selections, throwing style, and other settings. These stay on your device (local app storage) and are never sent to or stored on our servers at all.
- Anonymous usage statistics. Each installation generates one random ID, used only to count things like sign-reading attempts and recommendations shown, so we can understand how the app is used. It isn't linked to your name, email, or any account — the app has none.
- Subscription and purchase data. Handled entirely by RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. Our own servers never receive or process your payment details, card number, or billing information.
How it's used
Solely to generate your disc recommendations and to understand and improve how the app is used. We don't sell data, and we don't share it with advertisers — Disc Caddie has no ad network or tracking SDK of any kind.
Third-party services
- OpenAI — analyzes tee sign photos (model: gpt-5) to read hole information.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status and receipts. It sees an anonymous, app-generated subscriber ID and purchase events, never your name or payment method.
- Apple (App Store) — processes the actual payment when you subscribe. Neither Disc Caddie nor RevenueCat ever sees your card details.
- TryDiscs (api.trydiscs.com) — powers the disc search in the bag editor. Only the text you type into that search box is sent; no personal data or identifiers.
- Render — hosts our server, and may briefly log IP addresses as part of normal web hosting.
Data retention
Cached tee-sign results and anonymous usage statistics are currently kept indefinitely — we don't yet run an automatic deletion schedule — but what's retained is deliberately minimal: an image fingerprint mapped to a few parsed numbers (never the photo), and per-installation counters with no name or contact info attached. You can request deletion at any time; see below.
Your rights
You can clear everything Disc Caddie stores on your own device at any time from Settings → Start over from scratch. To request deletion of anything cached on our server, email us below — because installations are anonymous by design, we may ask for rough details (device, approximate date) to help locate the right cache entries.
Restoring a purchase (Settings → Restore purchases) talks directly to Apple and RevenueCat from your device — our own servers are never involved in that exchange and never handle any payment data.
